I n s t r u c t o r
Instructor: Tony Marvin
I have been actively involved in the Taos art and literary colony for 25 years and a permanent resident for 18 years. I have instructed courses for teachers and administrators under the umbrella of “Studies in Taos ” during the summer months for 20 years. I had designed several secondary alternative education programs (Colorado and New Mexico) having a great deal of experience working with multi-cultural populations in the content areas of language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, and ethnic studies.
I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education with concentrations in literature, history, philosophy and psychology. I also have a Master of Arts Degree, Exceptional Learners, K-12.
The information I share in an informal manner of course comes from this foundation; but perhaps more importantly it comes from the experiences I have shared with many Taos and New Mexico residents, artists, writers, historians, and descendents of historically significant families. Due to the longevity of these relationships and experiences, I offer a wealth of information related to the cultures of the Southwest. I am, also, cogently aware of “the best” Taos and Santa Fe offers. My creative endeavors are teaching, writing, photography, painting, and drumming. |
